Solvik & Struksnes (2018) was a descriptive quantitative study on the impact of clinical practice on nursing students’ experience. It is essential to the patient’s safety that the nursing students have a substantial level of experience. The clinical laboratory practice prepares nursing students for internships, where they deal with real-life patients. Therefore, the researchers carried out a controlled clinical trial on a random sample of 160 students in their first year in nursing school and second year. Therefore, the author opted to use descriptive analysis to achieve this objective that involved describing the fundamental features of the study.
The researcher set up frequency distribution, Kristal-Wallis and Mann-Whitney U-tests for the three groups, and the correlation analysis of form one and two data sets. The variable in this study is the nurses’ skill for students in their first and second year to determine the effectiveness of clinical practice in enhancing the nurses’ experience and hence the patients’ safety. The study was carried out in a controlled setting, with a control and project group, to confirm whether the clinical practice enhanced the student’s ability to work in real life.
