Capstone Project Presentation Evaluation

I prepared a comprehending Capstone Project Presentation Evaluation on the effectiveness of patient repositioning schedules to prevent pressure ulcers among elderly patients. The presentation identified the acute and chronic risk factors involved in forming pressure ulcers among the elderly, the relationship between pressure ulcers and hip fractures among the elderly with orthogeriatric care, and the mechanical nature of the soft tissue on the ulcers of elderly patients with pressure ulcers.

Fundamental Aspects of Pressure Ulcers

Understanding these fundamental aspects of pressure ulcers among elderly patients and the role that a regular patient repositioning schedule would help reduce or prevent pressure ulcers among the elderly (Jaul et al., 2018). The presentation was made in the board meeting of a board meeting at – hospital, meant to discuss the optimization of both the hospital’s employee welfare and the healthcare outcome, held at the hospital administrator’s boardroom, on Monday 19th April 2021.

The presentation was received with gratitude by the board members and deemed integral to meeting the hospital’s quality improvement goals for the year.

Ulcer Prevention

The evaluation of the presentation was positive, as the board members found it illuminating pressure ulcers as an opportunity to improve the hospital’s healthcare outcome. The presentation also proposed a potential solution for pressure ulcer prevention. However, the hospital administrator later noticed the quality of the presentation could be further improved by considering the impact of an optimal patient repositioning schedule on healthcare costs.

This information would be critical to the board of members’ consideration of the adaption of a precise patient repositioning schedule. Information on specialized training for nurses on patient repositioning was also deemed necessary. This would provide the nurses with basic information on pressure ulcers and how they impact the healthcare outcome. I have since made corrections to my presentation document and included the alluded information with clarity.
